The event, which is currently scheduled to take place in late October, will also be expanded from its previous staging, in Ireland in 2008.In addition to featuring the six Associate and Affiliate teams with ODI status – Ireland, Canada, Kenya, the Netherlands, Afghanistan and Scotland – it will also include the host team and the United States of America (USA).The top two sides from the tournament will go forward to join the 10 ICC Full Members in next year’s main event, set to take place in the West Indies in April and May at three locations – Barbados, Guyana and St Lucia.These decisions were made by the ICC Development Committee, which has been meeting this week in Dubai.”I am thrilled that the ICC Development Committee has again taken an expansive and innovative approach to promoting our great sport by inviting the UAE and USA to join the top six Associate and Affiliate teams at the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier later this year,” said ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat. “The committee has given the chance for the top six Associate and Affiliate teams to qualify for the ICC World Twenty20, something they had the chance to do in the equivalent event in Ireland last year, while, at the same time, creating two additional invitational slots for this event.”The ICC Development Committee also decided on the following locations for other upcoming events: The ICC World Cricket League Division 5 (due to take place in January 2010) will be held in Nepal. Crystal Palace secured a memorable victory over the reigning Premier League champions after seeing off Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

The ICC has warned players against signing up for a new unauthorised league being established in the USA.The American Premier League, the brainchild of local entrepreneur Jay Mir, is a Twenty20 tournament scheduled to be held in October on a converted baseball field in Staten Island, New York City. Although there remains some uncertainty about the whole venture, it is believed that a number of current and former players have been approached to take part.The ICC issued a statement earlier this week cautioning that the event was unauthorised, and in effect would have the same status as the rebel Indian Cricket League, whose players have been banned from international and much domestic cricket. That could mean that anyone taking part in the APL would face similar sanctions, and any team fielding such an individual would be barred from the Twenty20 Champions League.To date, the only named signings have come from Pakistan, but rumours, many emanating from the organisers, have linked the league with several current county players. The Daily Telegraph claimed that David Collier, the ECB chief executive, had warned county chairmen, about their players signing up.John Aaron, the secretary of the USA Cricket Association, confirmed to Cricinfo that the board’s “blessing was not sought in promoting the tournament”. He added that “the entrepreneurial sprit is alive and well in the USA, therefore many individuals continue to seek opportunities to arrange events”.The ICC were less concillatory. “The organisers have not sought the approval of the USA Cricket Association or the ICC, although I understand that the APL is approaching players directly to participate in the event. Members are therefore precluded from releasing their players to play in this event until such time as ICC confirms that the event has been approved.”There was some good news, however, for the APL with the announcement that Sir Richard Hadlee had joined as an executive consultant.A further question mark over the whole venture is the timing, as the weather in New York in October is not really suitable for cricket. One veteran administrator in the USA told Cricinfo that “unless they have plans to play indoors, this whole idea is, to put it mildly, ambitious”.

Enquanto eu não vir a convocação oficial, não vou acreditar nisso (risos).Eu não sei como funciona, acho que normalmente os times são notificados antes da lista ser divulgada, mas até agora não recebi nada, ninguém da seleção falou comigo, mas estou esperando, lógico, como todos os jogadores – disse Balbuena, que vê a convocação de Romero, menos habitual que a dele próprio, como um prêmio pela boa fase.

-Acho que sim, pelo que vem fazendo, pela forma que vem trabalhando, merece sim. Nossa seleção está em uma posição difícil, mas sabemos que tem chance. Ele é fundamental aqui e também na seleção.

Balbuena e Romero foram chamados para as partidas do Paraguai contra Chile e Uruguai, nos dias 31 de agosto e 5 de setembro, respectivamente. A dupla não desfalcará o Corinthians, já que o Brasileirão paralisa neste período. A equipe brasileira também terá Cássio e Fagner em ação pelo Brasil nas Eliminatórias.

أكد روبرت ليفاندوفسكي، النجم البولندي، أنه لم يذهب إلى صفوف فريق برشلونة من أجل الفوز بجائزة الكرة الذهبية.

وكان ليفاندوفسكي قد أصر على مغادرة بايرن ميونخ في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي الحالي، وأراد الانتقال إلى برشلونة، رغم معارضة بطل الدوري الألماني.

وأبدى بايرن ميونخ رغبته في الاحتفاظ بخدمات النجم البولندي، إلا أن الأخير أصر على موقفه وانتقل في النهاية إلى الكامب نو.

وظهرت تقارير صحفية تفيد بأن أولوية ليفاندوفسكي، فيما يتعلق بالانتقال إلى إسبانيا، تعلقت بتعزيز آماله في إمكانية الفوز بجائزة البالون الدور.

وقال ليفاندوفسكي في تصريحات لقناة “sport1” الألمانية: “لطالما قلت إن نجاح الفريق هو من يقودني، جوائز مثل تلك تُعد إضافات لطيفة، ولكن هذا ليس سبب رغبتي في الذهاب إلى إسبانيا، بعض ما كُتب هناك لم يكن صحيحًا”.

وفيما يتعلق بحجم حافزه للتنافس مع ريال مدريد ونجمه الفرنسي كريم بنزيما، قال روبرت: “أنظر إلى نفسي وفريقي وليس الآخرين”.

Há uma certeza quando Kazim é o escolhido para conceder entrevista coletiva: terá brincadeiras e risadas na sala de imprensa do CT Joaquim Grava. Carismático, o atacante do Corinthians brincou com sua própria situação de reserva e elogiou Jô, o titular.

O atacante inglês naturalizado turco comentou que a boa fase do Timão, invicto há 30 partidas, tem feito sucesso com seus parentes na Inglaterra. Antes, Kazim brincou:

– Eles (parentes) me perguntam: “você joga?”. E eu falo que não (risos). Agora é sério: eles falam desse momento muito bom. Meus amigos perguntam se o campeonato está no fim, mas digo que ainda tem seis meses. Tenho muitos amigos que são fãs agora do Corinthians. Eu preciso mandar camisas para a Inglaterra. Esse momento é muito bom – disse Kazim, que ainda tem dificuldades com a língua portuguesa.

Como Jô será poupado, Kazim voltará a ter uma chance como titular nesta quarta-feira, contra o Patriotas (COL), pela volta da segunda fase da Copa Sul-Americana. Contratado no início deste ano, o “gringo da Fiel” atuou em 19 jogos e marcou dois gols.

– Eu não estou acostumado com isso, sempre joguei nos outros times. Quero jogar todo jogo, todo jogador quer isso. Mas o Jô está muito bem agora, tenho respeito por isso, treino forte… Eles ganhando eu ganho também. Acho que é o primeiro “inglês turco” que tem a oportunidade de ganhar campeonato. Pessoalmente, fico bravo e triste porque não jogo. Mas não tenho argumento, a fase do Jô é muito boa. Entrar faltando alguns minutos é difícil para fazer gol, mas tenho que treinar mais. O Carille é uma pessoa muito boa e um bom treinador também – afirmou.

Kazim também falou sobre o contato com a torcida, disse que Jô é o melhor atacante do Brasileirão e fez elogios à defesa corintiana. Confira abaixo a íntegra da entrevista coletiva:

Como vê essa disputa com Jô?
O Jô está em boa fase. Quando joga por um grande time, tem muita competição. Agora o Jô está muito bem, fazendo muitos gols e sendo importante. O meu objetivo pessoal é ajudar meu time também. Como fala no Corinthians: treino é jogo, e jogo é guerra. O Jô está muito bem, e agora vou ter oportunidade para ajudar meu time. É um jogo muito importante, porque imagina ganhar o Brasileirão e a Sul-Americana? É bom, né?! (risos).

Como o Corinthians encara esse confronto com o Patriotas?
Quando você coloca essa camisa, todo jogo é importante. Não tem jogo que não nos importa. Nosso objetivo é jogo a jogo, e é importante continuar.

A defesa sólida dá liberdade aos atacantes?
Quando você tem uma boa defesa, os atacantes podem driblar mais, tentar passe mais difícil, porque tem a confiança na defesa. Eles nos dão muita confiança, são muito fortes. E o Balbuena não só na defesa, ele faz gol também. O Arana dá chapéu, dá caneta… E não são só os jogadores de defesa. O Jô volta, o Jadson corre pra caramba… Todos jogadores são importantes.

Quais são as principais diferenças no futebol brasileiro?
Aqui tem muita coisa diferente: viagens, muitos jogos, não para quando a seleção joga, todo dia treina… É muito diferente. Acho que por isso que o Brasil tem muitos bons jogadores. Rodriguinho e Jô já têm 40 jogos agora. Para mim, com 40 jogos o campeonato já acabou. Para mim essas coisas são diferentes. Futebol em todo país tem coisas diferentes. Meu filho fala: “pai, você chega no Brasil e não fica em casa”. Eu respondo que um dia ele vai entender, é o trabalho. Mas gosto de jogar aqui, o campeonato é competitivo.

Como tem sido o contato com a torcida?
Acho que toda torcida cobra gols, porque sou atacante. Eu entendo eles, porque também fico bravo quando não fazem gols (risos). Gosto dessa pressão. Eu tenho carisma porque é minha personalidade, não porque eu forço para isso.

Tem meta de gols no Corinthians?
Se eu puder, faço 100 gols, sem problema (risos). Acho que ajudo meu time quando entro. Quando joga sete ou oito minutos é difícil. Não tenho problema com isso porque o Jô está muito bem. Como posso ficar bravo com o Carille? Não pode. Eu quero jogar, mas tenho que esperar. Fico bravo, mas é o futebol.

É impossível ganhar a vaga de Jô? E acha que Jô é o melhor atacante do Brasil?
Isso é com o treinador, você tem que perguntar ao Carille. Tenho que trabalhar. Meu trabalho é treinar, eles pagam meu salário para isso. Preciso vir treinar. Se o Carille gosta, ele vai me colocar. Para mim o Jô é o melhor atacante agora no campeonato.

O que falar para Ederson, meia do Flamengo que terá de tirar um tumor?
Tenho que falar “força, Ederson”, porque tem coisas mais importantes que o futebol. Sou acostumado com isso. Meu irmão e primos morreram. Se ele quiser alguma coisa, pode me chamar que vou ajudar. Para ele é um momento muito difícil.
