A property developer and passionate cricket supporter, Mr Cama was President of Sussex CCC from 1980 to 1983.Commenting on the legacy, Sussex CCC Chairman, David Green said:”It is the largest donation the Club has ever received and we are obviously delighted to receive it and are grateful to Mr Cama for remembering us. He was a lifelong Member and supporter of Sussex CCC and had helped us in the past with smaller donations. This legacy is a magnificent last gesture of his love for Sussex cricket. The Club will ensure that his name is forever remembered whenever cricket is played at Hove by establishing a fitting memorial to him”We are expecting a net figure of just over £4 million (after all deductions) and our spending plan is three-fold. A proportion will be spent on much-needed improvements to the Ground and Members’ facilities, some of which is already in progress. We will also allocate a proportion with the aim of improving the overall cricketing infrastructure of the Club, the remainder will be invested to ensure the long term future of Sussex County Cricket Club.”

Aston Villa have been handed an exciting transfer update in their pursuit of Arsenal starlet Emile Smith Rowe.

What’s the story?

Recent reports from The Athletic’s David Ornstein suggested that Dean Smith’s side had put in an initial £25m bid for Smith Rowe, before upping that offer to £30m – both were promptly rejected by the north Londoners.

Then, The Express and Star’s Matt Maher insisted that “Villa are refusing to give up their pursuit” of the youngster, “as they continue with an ambitious summer transfer strategy, aimed at bolstering Dean Smith’s attacking options.”

And now, via The Daily Mirror’s print edition (04/07, p76), the Midlands club now think that Arsenal are now ready to sell Smith Rowe this summer, and are ready to up their bid to £32.5m.

It’s added that Arsenal’s attempts to tie down Smith Rowe to a new contract has failed to come to fruition, and the Gunners are now considering reluctantly letting him go, with Villa now confident of striking a deal.

Fans will be buzzing

Well, well, well. Talk about a twist in the tale!

After initially looking like Villa were simply posturing with their offers for Smith Rowe, it appears Smith and the club’s transfer committee were right all along with targeting the England U21 international this summer.

After Villa’s first bid for the play-maker was revealed, The Athletic’s Aston Villa correspondent Gregg Evans said: “Villa’s ambitions are becoming crystal clear. Not only are they showing no signs of slowing down their spending spree under Sawiris and Edens, but they are also looking at ways to weaken clubs who could be direct rivals.

“Bidding for Smith Rowe is the most obvious sign yet of that. But this strategic approach of trying to pick apart big teams is taking Villa to a new level. That they feel Smith Rowe is an achievable target says everything about the way the club are moving forward. The very thought of taking away one of Arsenal’s most exciting young players just a few years ago would have been laughed at.”

The fact that Arsenal are now seemingly open to letting him go and that Villa are confident of getting a deal done is a major twist that will surely leave supporters absolutely buzzing at the prospect of Smith Rowe joining.

You only have to look at the kind of reaction Villa fans had when links emerged to the 20-year-old, and it now appears they have every reason to be excited for real.

Jaffer, however, was unruffled by the loss of two quick wickets, and he duly made his way past the coveted three-figure mark, reaching 127 before falling to Harvinder Singh.West lost two other wickets on the day – those of Altaf Merchant (32) and Vinod Kambli (6) – as Central launched a spirited fightback late in the day. Off-spinner Kulamani Parida and Hirwani, who pegged away relentlessly at the West batsmen, were the two most successful bowlers for Central on the day.Former India players Nayan Mongia (17) and Sairaj Bahutule (7) will now resume battle for the West on Wednesday.

أعلن الاتحاد الغيني لكرة القدم عن عودة المدرب السابق للمنتخب الأول، كابا دياوارا، استعدادًا لخوض غمار تصفيات بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا 2023 والتي ستقام في “كوت ديفوار”.

وتلعب بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا المقبلة على ملاعب الأفيال في يونيو 2023، بمشاركة 24 منتخبًا سيتم التعرف عليهم من خلال التصفيات التي ستنطلق مع نهاية مايو القادم من خلال 12 مجموعة.

وأسفرت قرعة التصفيات يوم، الثلاثاء، الماضي عن وجود منتخب غينيا في المجموعة الرابعة رفقة مصر، إثيوبيا ومالاوي.

وكان دياوارا قد رحل عن منتخب غينيا بعد النتائج السيئة في بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا 2021 والتي أقيمت في الكاميرون خلال شهري يناير وفبراير 2022.

ولكن أكد الاتحاد الغيني لكرة القدم عن عودة، كابا دياوارا، إلى تدريب المنتخب الأول في الفترة المقبلة من أجل تحضيرهم لمواجهة مصرفي الجولة الأولى في “القاهرة”.

Não foi apenas a temporada de partidas oficiais que a pandemia do novo coronavírus interrompeu com a necessária paralisação de todas as atividades referentes ao esporte no Brasil e em boa parte do mundo. Não de acordo com informação veiculada pelo portal Globo Esporte.

Isso porque existia a intenção do Treze-PBorganizar uma última partida amistosa em caráter festivo para coroar a trajetória do agora ex-jogador Marcelinho Paraíba diante do Sport na cidade natal de Marcelinho e do Treze, Campina Grande.

Enquanto na primeiraequipe citada o jogador passou por três oportunidades diferentes nos anos de 2017, 2018 e 2019 onde totalizou 49 jogos e 11 gols marcados,pelo time do Recife Marcelinho atuou nos anos de 2010 e 2012 em 92 partidas onde balançou as redes em 37 oportunidades.

Ainda de acordo com o que foi divulgado, a ideia ainda em caráter inicial onde nem o ex-atleta e nem o time de Pernambuco teriam sido oficialmente contatados parece não ter desaparecido por completa.

O status de momento seria uma espécie de “caráter de espera” pelas alterações de calendário que serão necessárias por adequação ao cenário atual.
